Publisher SEGA has confirmed that its open-world gangster brawler Yakuza 3 (PS3) will hit North America on March 9, 2010--the same day Final Fantasy XIII arrives.

Accompanying the confirmation was a selection of new media assets, encompassing a dozen screenshots and a new trailer detailing the exotic locales of virtual Japan.

I guess Sega figured that anybody interested in a big cinematic Japanese RPG wouldn't have anything else to spend their money on that day.

  It's like they purposely setup this game to fail. Couldn't wait another week for the demotlition ball that is FF13 to come out? Oh SEga, silly sega.

    Any time in March is rather foolish for anything to come out on the PS3 besides FFXIII and God of War III - but they *could* have dropped the game in the last week of the month to avoid this mess.
