Evening Reading: Game Of The Evening!

After reaching out to the community for suggestions of what to bring back to ER, I was reminded of Console Game of the Evening during the era of Jason Bergman and Late Night Consoling by shacker RevRaven. I thought this was a capital idea of the highest quality, though I will be extending it to all games, not just consoles. I'll be taking submissions during each day's Morning Discussion so keep an eye out for my post.

If the nightly game sparks some inspiration, positive or negative, be sure to chat about it in the comments. To kick things off, here is RevRaven's Game of the Evening.

The Adventures of Willy Beamish - "Made by Sierra. Owned by Dynamix. It was a silly early 90s adventure game with cute dialogue. It was ported to the Sega CD, where I discovered it, and I'm surprised it isn't as well remembered as some of the other Sierra games of that era." (RevRaven)

I know I played that game when I was younger, but for the life of me, all I can remember is his frog, Horny.

Here are a few notable video game type stories from the day:

Also, if you're wondering who "That Guy" was in a movie you saw, check out this list of character actors. Thanks Thresher!

Talk amongst yourselves.

Are you talking about Lee's piece? His evening diatribe? I have to say I do not miss it at all. This is the Shack, we have Evening Reading, not LNC.

I just googled it and the only thing that popped up was Remo's. I never read those either. Console games? Pfft.

Do you miss the fact that PC news is not the focus with the absence of LNC or do you just like the one post highlights of the day in console gaming?

There hasn't been a need for LNC here for a long time, once the shack started covering console games for real that was the end of it.

There's obviously no need for it these days, but it's the only Shack feature I ever really actively looked forward to / wanted to read. Both Bergman and Remo did a cool job with it and wrote interesting things (we can gloss over Matias and whoever else).
