Rock of the Dead: Think Guitar Hero with Zombies

8
Real Heroes: Firefighter (Wii) developer Epicenter has unveiled its next Wii release, a bizarre zombie shooter that looks to combine Typing of the Dead with Guitar Hero.

Set to rockified renditions of classical music, Rock of the Dead sees players fighting against the inevitable zombie apocalypse with the plastic guitar controllers made popular by Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Much like SEGA's Typing of the Dead, but with color-coded guitar frets instead of increasingly complicated words, foes are slain by tapping in whatever combination hovers in front of them.

But wait, there's more. Beloved geek icons Neil Patrick Harris and Felicia Day have lent their voices to the game, and yes, it supports two-person multiplayer battles.

Expected to be a so-called budget release in the $30-$40 range, Rock of the Dead is due "in the late spring or early summer," reports IGN. Sadly, there's no word as to if it'll make the leap to other platforms--for now, it seems those seeking alternative guitar-controlled games on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will have to make due with Fret Nice.
