Final Fantasy 14 Coming to PS3 Exclusively in 2010

While Final Fantasy 13 will hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in spring of 2010, the next entry in the franchise, Final Fantasy 14, will launch exclusively on PS3 in 2010 as well. The announcement came this morning during Sony's E3 2009 press conference.

Titled Final Fantasy XIV Online, it appeared to be a massively multiplayer RPG in the vein of Final Fantasy XI. More details are expected as E3 continues this week.

Update: Final Fantasy XIV will also arrive on PC, Square Enix has confirmed, with the developer teasing that "adventure begins anew in the vast realm of Eorzea."

Good idea, release the follow up to your first MMO as a PS3 exclusive even though the PC version sold one hundred times the copies.

Plus, anyone that actually believes the term "exclusive" has any weight any more is pretty naive.
Exclusivity in video games is usually a six month window before the product appears on another platform. Seem like only first party developers are truly exclusive any more.
