StarCraft 2 Footage: Death Spasms and Squirts

15
Blizzard has released a short video showing off a few of StarCraft 2's new and improved death animations, including 'splodings, squishings and old-fashioned scorchings.

Blizzard has yet to announce a release date, though signups are currently open for the beta beginning this summer, which will "signal the final stretch [of development]."

What's with all the crappy Blizzard videos these last few days? First that terrible imps video for Diablo 3, and now this. For a company that normally does such professional work, they're now putting out these poorly edited alpha-quality tech demos. I've seen better fan videos on youtube. Bleh.

I agree totally. It almost makes me think they're 2 years away from release. (in Diablo3's case it might actually be true...) :-(

It's an update showing something they've been working on. Stuff explodes. What more do you want?

I think people are not used to seeing gameplay videos from Blizzard since all the past games have always been clips from cinematics.

I remember the original trailer for SC on the Diablo game disc was just a cinematic montage and I got excited for it too hahaha.

They're small videos showing animations of various units. They're not meant to be fancy it's just something extra they're showing you.

Why do you think Blizzard put this video online? Why wouldn't think that it was in a high definition quality, somebody took this video, compressed, lowered the resolution, muted the sound and put somewhere on the Internet, then another person downloaded and put somewhere else and so forth.
