Evening Reading

So I somehow convinced Nick to install Windows 7 on his main desktop PC and I think it has been worth it! He is going through all the pain now of figuring out how to get a few programs working. Once he is done I'll take the plunge, but that sucker has to suffer first!

As for the the videogame news around these parts:

Lastly, new president tomorrow, fyi.

Steve Gibson is the cofounder of Shacknews.com. Originally known as sCary's Quakeholio back in 1996, Steve is now President of Gearbox Publishing after selling Shacknews to GameFly in 2009.

Problem is, Tony just stood around the entire episode tho. I think he said what.. 3 words total? They are really wasting his character so far this season.

No he didn't....that's how they justify that he's not really dead.

I don't think that was the silent countdown per se. I think they just turned the audio down so all you could hear was her breathing.

so, what you're saying, is that the writers are either manipulative jerks deceiving fans, or they're just plain old jerks.

Or...they were going for dramatic effect and decided that being "manipulative jerks" was the best way to go about it.

jerk faces need to respect the silent countdown. they did well not to show her in the clip for the next episode though.

in season 1, he is forced to abduct her and kill her, before he knows she is a mole, and he puts here in a bullet proof vest and shoots her and she slumps over like she's dead. though, you don't find out she's wearing a bulletproof vest until the next episode.

CTU is gone and so far I really like it. They've done a good job of stepping the show back a bit and addressing a lot of the criticism. My favorite thing so far is how they have kept the season together as a whole instead of episode by episode. Seasons 5 and 6 they lobotomized the episodes to where anything that happened an hour earlier or later had just no effect on the current episode. It was retarded everything just reset every hour.

Chloe appeared briefly and did her thing a little bit but it wasn't as over the top as typical Chloe/CTU stuff. As someone who has seen every single episode and created an internet series parodying the show so far I think this season has been excellent and perfectly starts off where it needed to get back older fans of the show.

Anyone remember Chappelle? This episode reminded me of that. They're doing a great job so far. It's completely ridiculous, but they have lots of awesome elements like Jack/Tony, hot agent freckles, an honorable president like Palmer, and most importantly no more Los Angeles.

I still think it's retarded that there is STILL a leak at CTUFBI. So retarded I won't even spoiler it because it's a given at this point.

Just like "oh shit, the 1 secret service agent I trusted is the guilty one all along!". Completely the same "twist" bullshit they've done 150 times already on this show so it isn't surprising at all. Season 1, that shit was surprising. Season 7? Not so much.

          January 19, 2009 9:56 PM

Well, I think for this season it's not just a leak, it's a "faction". They built this up in Redemption and they're slowing revealing how there are several people working behind the scenes to undermine the President and Intelligence agencies etc. A couple in the secret service already revealed, we know they're in the FBI, we know they're in the President's own administration. Etc etc. This is different than just a singular mole like previous seasons.
