Free Peggle Nights Level Pack Released

The first free level pack for PopCap's addictive ball-bouncing casual sensation Peggle Nights (PC) arrived today, and is now available for download at FileShack.

At a mere 1.08MB, the download adds five holiday-themed stages and ten challenges to the unicorn-starring game. The new levels can be played in either Quick Play or Duel.

The download is compatible with all versions of Peggle Nights, including the Steam release. The pack even works with the demo, though not all stages are accessible.

"We can't get enough of Peggle ourselves, so there's a selfish motive behind introducing additional levels for Peggle Nights on a frequent basis," said Peggle co-creator and PopCap studio director Sukhbir Sidhu.

More level packs will hit next year, though they may not be as cheap--PopCap noted that the holiday level pack is a $3.95 value, but is "free for the holiday season."

Why don't they just put it in a Steam update for the Steam users?

Word. While on this note, did they ever put the Farcry 2 extra level on through Steam or does it need to be downloaded as if it were bought retail?

It's a limited time free offer. Not worth it to do an automatic update. Also required to hear about it on Shacknews so Steve gets more hits to his site therefore making more $$. Don'tcha just hate when the Big Business makes things so hard to get those so-called 'free' offers?
