Far Cry 2 Arrives October 21

Ubisoft Montreal's open-world shooter sequel Far Cry 2 (PC, PS3, 360) will hit North America on October 21 and Europe on October 24, the company confirmed today.

While Ubisoft only announced the European date this morning, the company has since informed GameSpot of the specific North American release date for the followup to Crytek's 2004 PC shooter Far Cry.

Yeah. Enemies fire flares to call in reinforcements. I believe you can use each faction's flare gun to call them in as a distraction.

        Hah hah that's awesome.

It sounds like you're saying you can shoot up a camp controlled by Faction 1 and take a flaregun, then drive to another camp controlled by Faction 2 and fire it into the air, and then hide in the bush and watch as Faction 1 rolls up and starts a firefight with Faction 2. Then all you have to do is pick off the survivors and start shopping for weapon drops.

Or do you mean you can fire an opposing faction's flaregun and it will spook the guys you're fighting?

I like the former better. The best part of Doom was making the monsters fight each other.

Maybe you can steal a flare gun from faction 1 and then fire it in some random location, everyone from the base will go there then you can goto their base with it being mostly empty.
