Gothic 4 Is Spellbound

JoWooD today announced that Spellbound Entertainment will be developing Gothic 4, the new installment in the role playing game series. Piranha Bytes developed the first three games in the series, but was unable to reach a new agreement with JoWood.

The German based Spellbound Entertainment previously worked on PC titles including Desperados 1 & 2, Robin Hood and Airline Tycoon Deluxe.

Gothic 4 is being developed for PC and "current gen" console systems. More details, including a release date, are expected in the next few weeks.

Of course, if you played Gothic 3 before it was patched it required alot of action to keep from being killed by wild boars.

The truth is i haven't played the last game, my experience is more the first game, which seemed a pretty hardcore occidental RPG.

I think it counts as 'action' because of the real-time combat.

Yes, the player weapon swings and attacks were very much reflex and timing-driven, rather than being purely stat driven.

When i read 'action RPG' i usually think of Diablo, which is more an action game with levelling up. Me and lots of other people.
