E for All Continues for All in 2008

Magazine publisher and event organizer IDG today announced the first details on the 2008 follow up to its E for All event. Unlike this year's debut of the consumer show, which runs from October 18-21, next year's event will take place a few months earlier on August 28-30. Both this year's and next year's show will be based in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

A result of the Entertainment Software Association's revamping of its annual E3 trade show, E for All chiefly differs from the former E3 in that it is no longer an industry-only event and instead open to the public. Described by IDG as "the premiere event for video games and other electronic entertainment," both Sony and Nintendo will have booths at this year's E for All, which will also host World Series of Video Games tournaments, a Video Games Live concert, and an Into the Pixel exhibition of game-inspired art.

As previously revealed, advance tickets to this year's event are priced $45 for attendance through October 19, $65 for attendance through the October 20, and $90 for attendance through October 21. At the door, those prices respectively increase to $50, $75, and $110. Shacknews has contacted IDG for information on the ticket pricing of the 2008 event.

The PAX equivilents of most of those events have more cred / entertainment value than the E for All ones... Seeing an eclectic lineup of 6 game music-related bands perform is surely a better show than Tommy Tallarico's masturbatory Video Games Live thing, and the Omegathon is a more of a comedy event than a real professional touranment.
