Well, pseudo-straight. They take a break next week for some abomination of a Thanksgiving Marathon, and then another few weeks during the holidays.

It IS taking a break. After episode 10, it will take a month break, then finish the rest all the way through.

Damnit again? I feel like the show has taken a turn for the worse lately. The podcast with RDM makes it sound like he's not around as much, I suspect because he's working on Caprica.

I guess I'll have to see it. Still, I really do think Caprica is taking up his time now.

Halfway through the show, I was thinking that Bulldog and Tigh were going to slowly commiserate over the next few episodes, and team up to take down Adama for the mid-season break. It didn't go that way, which makes me kind of sad. But I LOVED Bulldog's musical theme, as well as the opportunity to see more Tigh. It does seem that, just like Season 1's Adama doesn't know where Earth is revelation, this little secret might come back to bite Bill in the ass (especially given Lee's reticence at the end to clap for his dad). I don't think that'll actually happen, but it does look like the Lucy Lawless storyline is building up to the mid-season cliffhanger. And it was nice to see Adama involved as an actual character for a change. He's been a set-piece for quite a few episodes now.

Rymer's directing wasn't half bad either, although he got pretty close to pushing his tricks too far at points.

McCreary's post on this week's music:

The podcast this week was delayed.

McCreary will be someone to look out for in the next 10 years for major film scores. Right now he's like a James Newton Howard/Philip Glass hybrid.

Yeah. I miss the paranoia of the first season.

Back then Adama would never have let a strange cyclon ship approach the fleet like that, much less land on Galactica. :/

the cylon virus that is eating them alive from the last episode is spreading around their fleet, so, it didnt end with them not killing the cylons in that battle and sending the infected models to the resurection ship

I didnt want them to lose that storyline after just one episode.
