Late Night Consoling
A week of Late Night Consoling without Jason, I'll try to make up for his absence but it will be impossible to match his in-depth knowledge of the world of consoles. Be sure to email or shackmessage any news to me, I appreciate the help. To start off this LNC, GameSpot is featuring the first review (that I know of anyway) of Acclaim's BMX XXX (Xbox and Playstation 2), and surprise, it's not very good. The game could only muster a 5.4. In related news, there's an interview with Acclaim's Alan Lewis about the game on HomeLAN Fed.
Metroid Prime ReviewsSome early reviews of Metroid Prime are coming in. Gamers.com has a partial reprint of EGM's January issue, where the game scores a perfect 10. IGN also has a review of the game and gave it a 9.8, though sadly that article is Insider only. You don't need to be an Insider to check several new Quicktime-format movies though.
Microsoft & JapanMicrosoft really wants to succeed in Japan and so Pat Ohura is being added to the team of Xbox executives in Redmond early next year. Ohura comes from Microsoft's Japanese unit and will try to inform the other executives about the significance of the Japanese market and the differences between that market and the U.S. one.
Two For Capcom Gamers.com is reporting that Capcom has announced two new PS2 games; Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter, and Everblue 2. The RPG Breath of Fire V was mentioned a few times here in the past, it is due out February 2003 (some more information is up at IGN). Everblue 2 (the original was not released in the U.S.), an undersea adventure game, will reach North American stores in January.
StarCraft: Ghost Interview A brief StarCraft: Ghost Q&A has been posted on GamePort. Blizzard's Bill Roper is on hand to answer questions about this Nihilistic/Blizzard co-production.
Dragon's Lair 3D Gold Ubi Soft has announced that the latest incarnation of Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair 3D: Return to the Lair, has gone gold. The Xbox game (the first to feature 1080i HDTV support) will be in stores November 18.
Diesel Power From GameSpy comes news that actor Vin Diesel is starting his own videogame company called Tigon Games. Though more of a hobby than anything else, Vin hopes games like xXx for the Game Boy Advance (which wasn't liked too much) will be a thing of the past. The first game the company will work on will be Perrone, a mature action-adventure game set in the '70s.
Misc. Previews/Media GameSpot's preview of Guilty Gear X2 is available, and there are also twenty new screenshots from the game. Also at GameSpot are eight new screenshots from Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and a trailer from the GBA Minority Report game. At GameSpy you can find an Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb preview and for those of you interested in the PS2 version of The Sims, some screenshots are available at IGN. |

The radiant is in the constellation Leo, should be near the planet Jupiter.. Jupiter would be the brightest object in that region of the sky. See www.astronomy.com for more info. -
