Late Night Consoling
Here it is...my latest (and hopefully final) LNC reformat tests (now with goofy console names!). Right now I'm a Belmont man. Please post your opinions on these, and I'll make my decision this week. Ten geek points to the first person to catch all four references (although they're not very hard).
- As part of their application process, Square has revealed the system requirements for the PC port of Final Fantasy XI. Yikes those are steep. On a related note, The Magic Box is reporting that the PC beta test will not share the same servers as the PS2 game. This should change after the official PC launch.
- At long last, Vanilla Ice is going to be appearing on Nintendo's GameCube. Bitchin'!
- Call it "When Good Ports Go Bad"...apparently the just-released GBA port of Earthworm Jim 2 sucks big time. It's a shame... I love that game.
- In other GBA news, the screwball title Pinball of the Dead has shipped to retailers.
- Want a silver GameCube? How about a bright green GBA? Now you can, thanks to a new company called ColorConsoles.com. More info (and an informal review of the service) can be found at GameSpot. As a side note, CC.com will also install a GameCube mod switch or GBA Afterburner along with your coloring for an additional fee (you have to provide the Afterburner though).
- Here's some new footage from Super Monkey Ball 2.
- Ubi Soft announced today that the new game in The Settlers series will be released for console systems...they didn't specify which ones, however.
