Resident Evil 4 Remake Separate Ways DLC arrives next week

Published , by Donovan Erskine

Resident Evil 4 Remake was one of the most financially and critically successful games of the early 2023 release window, breathing new life into one of the horror franchise’s most beloved entries. Luckily for fans, Capcom isn’t done with RE4 quite yet. The Separate Ways DLC is coming to RE4 Remake, and it’s only a week away.

Fans of the original Resident Evil 4 will instantly recognize Separate Ways as the name of a DLC that existed in that game too. Once again, the expanded story will focus on Ada Wong, a recurring character in the Resident Evil universe. During the trailer, dialogue teases the history between Ada and Leon, who first crossed paths during Resident Evil 2, which also received a remake a handful of years back.

Separate Ways takes place parallel to the main story of RE4, filling in the narrative gaps that players don’t experience on Leon’s journey. Ada seems to be a lot more agile than Leon in navigating the land of rural Spain, using a grappling hook to launch herself into the air and fly around. We also see her using it in combat.

Arguably the biggest surprise was that the newly announced DLC isn’t far off from release. Separate Ways will be released on all platforms one week from today on September 14. During the same segment, Capcom provided a fresh look at the PS VR2 version of Resident Evil 4.
