Earthblade gets gameplay reveal at The Game Awards

With Celeste being one of the most beloved indie games of the last several years, there’s been a lot of excitement swirling around the developer's next title, Earthblade. During The Game Awards, we got our first glimpse at gameplay in Earthblade, as well as the news that the game will come out in 2024.

The Earthblade gameplay trailer shows off that pixel art style that was also present in Celeste. We see a diverse amount of environments that players will likely traverse during their journey. The trailer also shows off official artwork for some of the characters in Earthblade.

Combat is also highlighted in the Earthblade trailer. We see a knight enemy launch a sword at a player, with the sword slowly following behind them. The player also deals out some blows of their own with a bladed weapon. Earthblade was previously targeting a 2023 release date, but the game will now launch in 2024.
