Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was one of the most psychologically gruelling games released in 2017. The game managed to do a masterful portrayal of psychosis as it told a heart-wrenching story of love and loss. Now, players are getting to see more of the highly anticipated sequel, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. Today’s trailer isn’t just a pre-rendered CGI trailer either, it features actual gameplay. Please, take a look.

The gameplay trailer for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was revealed at the Game Awards 2021. In the trailer, Senua leads part of a group of fighters into a cave by the shoreline as they hunt a monster. It turns out the monster is a giant, half naked human who Senua believes is there to hunt her.

Viewers will also note that Senua’s internal voices that ailed her in the original are alive and present in this sequel. It’s going to be interesting to see how the team at Ninja Theory tackles Senua’s mental state throughout the game, but there’s a good chance it will have the same expert touch exhibited in the original.

There’s still no release date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated should one appear. Stop by the Shacknews Game Awards 2021 page for a rundown of everything announced at today’s show.
