#10 - Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron truly pushed the N64 hardware to the limit with its amazing space dogfight gameplay. Check out the video for more information on this Factor 5 classic.

#9 - Diddy Kong Racing

Fly, drive, or boat around in this awesome racing game made during the golden age of Rare and Nintendo's relationship. Sure, there were faster and more detailed racing games on N64 (like F-Zero X), but this game had Conker. Check out the video for more sweet details about DKR on N64!

#8 - Banjo-Kazooie

Another classic game from Rare. This brand new IP captured the hearts and imaginations of a whole generation of players with its awesome level design and amazing soundtrack. Check out the video for even more sweet facts about Banjo-Kazooie for Nintendo 64.

#7 - Mario Kart 64

Mario Kart 64 was one of the most popular party games of the N64 era, and even though there were better racing games on the system like F-Zero X, this game still resonated with our staff's brains all these years later. Watch the video to find out more.

#6 - Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. was a great experiment that exceeded the wildest expectations of many at Nintendo and birthed an esport that is still thriving to this very day. Even though many players view Melee as the franchise's best entry, many Kirby experts point out that the loveable pink puffball peaked in the game's first installment on Nintendo 64.

#5 - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Majora's Mask was another experiment that went extremely well for Nintendo on N64. On the back of the amazing reception for the game's predecessor, the Big N really took some risks with this beloved IP. The time mechanic in the game allowed for way more replay value than Ocarina of Time, and is still highly regarded as one of the very best Nintendo 64 games.

#4 - Star Fox 64

Widely regarded as the best entry in the series, Star Fox 64 is a damn near perfect game with amazing music, voice acting, and level design. One could argue this game is too good because the franchise has yet to live up to the N64 masterpiece.

#3 - Super Mario 64

This Nintendo 64 launch title introduced the world to Mario in a 3D world. While it isn't perfect by modern-day standards, Super Mario 64 changed the game forever. Check out our feature article about Mario 64's 25th anniversary here.

#2 - GoldenEye 007

GoldenEye 007 changed the first-person shooter genre forever when it launched on Nintendo 64. Many of the game's design decisions look downright terrible in retrospect, but playing with friends in a four player splitscreen experience was life-changing back in the 90s. Check out the video for more info.

#1 - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

It should come as no surprise that the Shacknews staff chose The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as our number one Nintendo 64 game. It has been widely held as one of the best video games ever created, and its amazing soundtrack has inspired a few million lofi remixes on YouTube. Check out the video for more info on the Hero of Time's most excellent journey.
