The E3 2021 Nintendo Direct had a bit of something for every Nintendo fan. Those that cherish the 2000s era of the company, particularly the GameBoy Advance days were especially pleased with today’s showcase. That’s because during the Nintendo E3 2021 Direct, the company announced that the original Advance Wars titles would receive a remake with Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp was announced at the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct with a brand new trailer. The trailer showcases the classic turn-based tactical gameplay from Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. We see the military combat and action completely revamped for the modern era.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp isn’t just an HD port, it’s a full-on remake of the first two Advance Wars games. Nintendo even took some creative liberties, as we see some changes to the art style. One change comes in the fact that the battlefield now looks a lot more like a tabletop game.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp is set to release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on December 3 of this year and is available for pre-order now. Advance Wars wasn’t the only GameBoy Advance-era Nintendo title to get some love during the company’s E3 2021 presentation. We learned that a brand new WarioWare title is set to launch in a few months.
