Souls fans rejoice, Demon’s Souls is coming to PS5. This surprise unveiling was revealed to the world during the PlayStation 5 game and console reveal event on June 11. Get your Eye Stones ready, because you’re going to need all the help you can get when the world tendency shifts.

Demon’s Souls is coming to PS5

Demon’s Souls, a title that was once exclusive to the PlayStation 3, is finally coming to a new platform. Though no exact release date was announced, the trailer gives an insight into the level of detail that players can expect from this remake. Please check out the trailer below!

For a lot of gamers like me, this is likely the major takeaway from the PlayStation 5 reveal event. It’s been a long time since the game was released on PS3 back in February of 2009. Since then, we all mourned the shutting down of the servers, which rendered a large chunk of the game (World Tendencies) essentially moot. It will be interesting to see whether this new version, which is considered a remake according to the PlayStation Blog, reinstates the enigmatic online system.

The effort to bring Demon’s Souls to a new generation of gamers is thanks to the efforts of Bluepoint Games and Japan Studio. Interestingly, From Software was not listed in the trailer or the YouTrube description.

One more important piece of branding is the PlayStation Studios logo, which indicates that the game comes from a Sony in-house studio. Whether this means it is a console exclusive remains to be seen, as the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding are both heading to PC sometime soon.

It’s a good day to be a Soulsborne fan. Perhaps this reveal is enough to tip some players over the line to purchase a PlayStation 5. Let us know in the Chatty thread below if this is the case for you. While you’re at it, check out the Demon’s Souls and PlayStation 5 page for ongoing coverage of Sony’s new console and its games.

This was definitely the game that made me sit up and take notice. I've half a mind to see if it is in fact exclusive, as a few of Sony's high profile games are already coming to PC.

mhmm. I bought a PS4 for Bloodborne so it just feels right to get a PS5 for Demons Souls.

Yep. Day one purchase - but I actually hope they don’t stay too faithful. There have been a lot of improvements in subsequent souls games and some of the boss fights in DeS were just sucky (looking at you Dragon God!) - given Bluepoint did some QoL changes in SotC (or so I believe) I hope there’s similar here.

Cant wait to get pissed off farming Pure Bladestone all over again.

I wonder if they'll keep the world tendency and the server tendency. It always seemed kind of complicated and backwards but it's also tied to several enemies and events and such so I'd hate to see it go.

I imagine if there's any series you want to be extremely careful making changes to, it's this one. The fans are particularly ... intense.

Eh, the original still exists. I wouldn't mind seeing numerous changes and improvements.

I also want that fabled sixth world (Northern Limits / Land of the Giants) that was cut towards the end of development to be fully fleshed out and added in. All that remains in game is the broken archstone in the nexus.

It could easily have been mistaken for the Demon's Souls remake (which hasn't said PC yet). but the rumor was that Bloodborne would have been announced in this last event.

Bluepoint did the Shadow of the Colossus remaster, and it's seriously incredible the amount of texture and image quality they added to that game while still completely preserving the tone/sentiment of the original. The way they really successfully (IMO) enhanced/"upgraded" the colossi, which are already such unique and stylized creations, should make you very excited about this Demon's Souls update, I think. Game is gonna look realllly cool.

No desire to buy a console. I'd pay a significant fraction of a console's cost to buy a Magical Official Controller with crazy DRM in it that lets me play this stuff on my PC.
