Shackstream: The cold, merciless shadows of The Long Dark

Join Josh as he dives headfirst into the frigid wilderness of Hinterland's The Long Dark.

The Long Dark has had a very storied history. Arriving in early access several years ago, Hinterland has worked hard to continue to grow and expand on the original idea. It’s been a staple of Bill Lavoy’s gaming library for many moons now, and while I’ve already played it some, it’s going to be interesting to return to it after such a long hiatus.

I’ll need all of our wits as I try to survive the frigid, snow-filled lands of The Long Dark, and you’re invited to a first-row seat on the official Shacknews Twitch channel. The show will kick off here shortly at 2 PM EST, so make sure you tune in and don’t miss out on any of the hardcore survival fun.

Of course, you can tune in using the embed above, or follow the link that we’ve included in the article as well. We’re thankful for all of our Twitch subscribers, and all of the fine folks that hang out and keep us company while we’re streaming. You make this entire thing a joy to do, and it wouldn’t be nearly as fun without you all there laughing along with us.

We also want to say a quick thank you to all of our Mercury subscribers, who help support the website that they’ve used for years. If you haven’t already, please consider subscriber to us on Twitch, or pick up a Mercury subscription here on the website. You can get a lot of cool stuff for just $1 a month, and you won’t ever have to deal with any kind of ads on the site ever again. Support a great website + no ads for just $1 a month? That’s a heck of a deal.

Finally, if you haven’t already, make sure you connect your Twitch and Amazon accounts together if you have Amazon Prime. This will also grant you Twitch Prime, as well as a free sub each month that you can use on your favorite streamers. Free stuff is always a plus if you ask me!

Anyway, I’ve gotta get ready for the show now, so make sure you tune in and say hello. See you soon.
