Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will hack and slash in fall 2020

At tonight's 2019 Game Awards, Wizards of the Coast announced Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, seemingly a spiritual sequel to the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance action-RPGs of yore. The ARPG will be out in fall 2020.

If the "Dark Alliance' subtitle rings a bell, you're officially old enough to recall Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, a franchise of tragically short-lived action-RPGs developed for the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox era of gaming consoles. Where the core Baldur's Gate titles on PC focused on tactical action and deep storytelling, the Dark Alliance games were hack-and-slash romps more in line with Blizzard North's and Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo titles.

You'll be able to slay with a friend when Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance premieres in 2020.
