If you’re excited for next month’s release of Pokemon Sword and Shield, then I’ve got even bigger news for you. Today, the beloved developer of one of the gaming’s most iconic series release a brand-new trailer showcasing several new Gigantamax Pokemon, including Charizard, Pikachu, Meowth, and even Eevee.

You can check out the trailer for yourself here in the article. It’s pretty entertaining to see some of the design decisions that the developers have taken with the new Gigantamax Pokemon and while some like Eevee look fantastic, others like Meowth leave a bit to be desired. Still, we’re excited to see them in action, and to try out their new Gigantamax moves ourselves. The newly revealed Gigantamax Pokemon have also spawned a ton of new memes and jokes, with things like #FatPikachu starting to trend on various social media services in response to the chonky version of Pikachu that is the popular Pokemon’s Gigantamax form.

Each new generation of Pokemon, the developers always try to introduce something new to keep the series feeling fresh despite the series having received almost 30 sequels since the first game in 1996. With over 20 years of history in the game series (and tons of other media to boot) Pokemon has been one of the most iconic franchises in gaming history, and it will be intriguing to see how bringing the series to the Nintendo Switch allows Game Freak to expand and evolve the series as a whole. Gigantamax Pokemon are the latest addition to the various mechanics that we’ve seen added since the first game in ’96, and we’re intrigued to see how they fare in actual gameplay sequences.

On top of the game offering Gigantamax Pikachu, Charizard, Meowth, and Eevee, the trailer also shows off a Gigantamax Butterfree, as well as several other Gigantamaxed Pokemon. Keep your eyes glued to our Pokemon Sword and Shield hub for more information and guides when the game releases this November.
