Phageborn interview: This digital card game is "quite close to release"

Published , by Brittany Vincent

Looking for a fun new digital card game to play that isn't Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering Arena? Sounds like Phageborn might be your speed.

Shacknews sat down with Phageborn community manager Ivan Fratrić, who had great news for anyone looking to give the game a try. It's actually releasing very soon.

"It runs much smoother. The assets are better, and we're quite close to release. There's still work to do, but we're very close." According to Steam, the team is targeting a January 30, 2020 release. Hopefully that ends up becoming true, as we'd very much like to give it a try.

In Phageborn, players are tasked with creating a deck of cards that's formidable enough for them to take on other players. There are solo options, 2v2 game modes, and four main factions to choose from. Players must choose a faction, then create a deck using only that faction's selection of cards.

You can learn more about the game by heading over to the game’s official website. We had a chance to talk to the game’s Community Manager earlier this year as well, during the Reboot Develop Blue conference in Croatia, where we were able to learn a bit more about Phageborn’s dual resource system. It looks like things have continued along swimmingly since then.
