During today's Made By Google event, the tech announced its latest Google Nest, the Nest Mini. Available for just $49, the Nest Mini is set to arrive later this month on October 22.

The new Nest Mini, as Google has dubbed the latest in its line-up of smart home devices, is a bit smaller than the previous Google Home models that have popped up over the past several years. As a more affordable option to the previous options out there, the Nest Mini includes everything that Google users loved about the Google Home series, as well as features that Nest users will find extremely useful.

This is also the smallest Google assistant that we’ve seen coming out of the tech giant, which is to say quite a bit, as previous Google Home Minis have been exceptionally small for the power that they pack inside.

While the Google Nest Mini and Home Mini probably look very familiar to those who have used the smart devices in the past, there are a few key updates. First, Google has introduced a brand-new color to the options, Sky Blue. Also, there’s now a wall mount hook, which allows you to hang the Nest Mini up on the wall somewhere if you so choose. You’ll also find a brand-new speaker in the Nest Mini, which Google claims will put out twice the bass that the Home Mini was capable of. The insides also include a faster processor and a new machine learning chip.

The new machine learning chip (also called a “ML” chip) will allow the Google Assistant built into the Nest Mini to learn, anticipate, and even recommend commands to you as you use it more and more. It’s a interesting idea and definitely a nifty feature for those who enjoy having their home connected to the Google ecosystem.

For more info on the Nest Mini, make sure you head over and check out the official website. The Nest Mini is now available for preorder and will ship October 22.
