Fortnite has been down for almost 24 hours at this point and a lot of players are still trying to figure out exactly what in the world is going on. With rumors and “leaks” popping up everywhere, we thought it time to put together an article detailing everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 2, including info on when you can download, preload, it’s release time, and other information.
Fortnite Chapter 2 - Download, preload, and release time
Alright, so this is it. Our big mega thread of all the Fortnite Chapter 2 stuff that you need to know. We’ve pulled together a few of the biggest questions that players have been asking and we’ll continue to update the answers as any new information drops. Let’s knock the easy things out first and foremost.
Nobody knows just yet. There are rumors that it’s set to hit on October 15 in China, but we haven’t received any confirmation on that just yet from Epic Games—who is still unsurprisingly very quiet about the entire thing.
When can you preload or download Fortnite Chapter 2?
Again, nobody knows. We don’t even know when the update is set to release. But, of course, rumors and “leaks” have already shown some people getting the update (which comes in at 13GB or so if the leaks are to be believed) downloaded.
Why is Fortnite down?
Well, the answer to this question is quite easy. Instead of just ending Season X with a bang, Epic Games launched a massive event that appears to be set to completely revamp Fortnite in a new way when things come back up. How long will it be down? Nobody knows for sure.
What is Fortnite Chapter 2?
Fortnite Chapter 2 is for all intents and purposes a completely new Fortnite. While players have spent the past ten seasons (spread out over a few years) playing on the same map, Fortnite Chapter 2 looks to be turning all of that on its head. Of course, all we have to go on right now is leaks and rumors, but we’re hoping that Epic Games will drop more information about Fortnite Chapter 2 very soon. In fact, some rumors and leaks even suggest that we’ll see new things like boats, a new level system, ammo crates, and other additions to the game when it relaunches.
Unfortunately, there are still a lot of unanswered questions when it comes to Fortnite Chapter 2. We’ve got our best people keeping an eye on things, and we’ll be sure to share more information as we know more. For now, though, the popular battle royale game remains lost in the black hole that it was sucked into on Sunday, October 13.
