Mario Kart Tour is out now on iOS and Android devices and players can dive in right now to start their climb to number one. But, if you want to become the best, then you’re going to want to take part in more difficult races. This can be accomplished by changing the CC, which allows you to take part in races with much faster karts. In this guide we’ll teach you how to change the CC in Mario Kart Tour.

How to change CC in Mario Kart Tour

Like any Mario Kart game, Mario Kart Tour allows players to take part in up to four different CC ranks of races. Basically, by upping the current CC, you’ll be able to take part in a much faster race, which means the overall challenge goes up by quite a bit. Like previous entries in the Mario Kart series, not all CCs will be unlocked from the start, with players beginning at 50CC. However, you can unlock up to three more CC levels, which you can change on the fly before diving into any race.

How to change CC in Mario Kart Tour
You can change CC before any race.

To change the CC in Mario Kart Tour, choose a race and then go through the process of choosing your racer, kart, and glider. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be shown a screen where you can select the CC and then move on to the actual race. To change the CC, simply click on the drop-down and then select the CC that you want out of the available options of 50, 100, 150, and 200.

Unfortunately, most players will only be able to choose between 50, 100, and 150CC as 200CC is locked behind the Mario Kart World Tour Gold Pass, which is available for $4.99 a month. This also grants users access to some exclusive characters, karts, rubies, and badges. If you’re interested in playing in the 200CC category, then you’ll need to head to the shop in-game and purchase the Gold Pass, otherwise, you won’t be able to play at that speed.
