The classic platformer MediEvil is returning with a ground-up remake all the way back from the '90s, and there's a demo you can try now for free ahead of its October release.
Sony made the announcement about the MediEvil remake demo today during its State of Play livestream, confirming that there will be a special reward for anyone who jumps into the game and completes it early. You'll get Sir Daniel, the protagonist's helmet, that you can use in the full game when it debuts.
The demo will offer a bite-sized taste of some of the combat you can expect from the game, which will include a variety of different melees weapons like bows, axes, swords, and more. You play as a skeletal hero named Sir Daniel, and as if there weren't enough items to batter your enemies in-game with, you can pull off Daniel's limbs to fight too.
This remake will mark a new beginning for the series, as there hasn't been a release from it since MediEvil: Resurrection when it debuted in 2005 and re-released on PlayStation Network back in 2008. It looks like this remake is all we're getting for the time being, but there could always be more MediEvil on the way at some point if this game proves to sell well.
