Minecraft beta update 1.13.0.15 adds character creator

Published , by Josh Hawkins

The latest update for the Minecraft beta is now available to download and it brings quite a few big changes to the hit survival adventure game, including a new character creator that allows players to customize their Minecraft character right inside the game.

The character creator will allow players to customize their avatar in a number of ways, including body size and shape, limb replacement, eyes, mouth, and even hairstyles, color of hair, facial hair, and skin tone color. The creator will also include over 100 items that users can customize their character with for free, and you can purchase even more to personalize your avatar even further. The new update also includes a ton of fixes, some of which we’ve outlined below.

Perhaps the coolest thing about the new character creator is the fact that players will now actually be able to create hats and backpacks that stick off of their characters, giving the player models even more depth. This is a nice little feature that will allow skin creators to create models that really stand out from the background of the Minecraft world, and it’s a welcome feature that many have wanted see supported officially for several years now.

The character creator is now available in beta update 1.13.0.15, and will also roll out to Minecraft Earth, as well as other Bedrock platforms like iOS and Nintendo Switch when the beta concludes.
