New GRID trailer shows off dazzling street races and new cars

This new footage is surely meant to "get your heart racing," as the trailer implies.

If you're into racers, you should probably have your eye on Codemasters' upcoming GRID, especially after seeing everything the new trailer has to offer.

Dubbed "Get Your Heart Racing," the new footage shows off several different car classes as they careen down the road and throughout street circuits across the globe. It's fast and it's furious, alright.

When the game launches, it will come packing races across 104 events, with players entering the GRID World Series, racing in four cities with eight circuits, and 80 racing routes. There are also a massive 400 different AI personalities that can be utilized in-game that range from calm to unpredictable so each race feels different from the last.

“GRID as a racing franchise is revered by our community and we are delighted to bring it to the current generation of consoles,” said Chris Smith, GRID Game Director at Codemasters. “The game offers so much variety and depth, from the number of modern and classic cars through to the locations and race options. Renowned for its handling, the game will appeal to all types of player, from casual drivers who want a lean-in challenge, to sim drivers who want some serious fun."

Just looking through the newest crop of footage, it certainly seems as though it's already packing a lot more variety into this version of the game, which is good news for anyone looking for a new racing title to start practicing their craft in.

You can expect to see this new vision of GRID when it debuts on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 11. If you opt for the "Ultimate Edition," you'll get access to the game three days early on October 8.
