Yaga interview: Gettin' wild with one hand

There are more video new games released every year as the tools for creation have become more accessible and digital distribution offers worldwide marketplaces. When you don’t have the endless marketing budgets associated with AAA titles, ensuring your game has a hook (in this case, literally) will help it stand out from the crowd. Yaga, a new action RPG from Breadcrumbs Interactive, follows the exploits of a one-handed blacksmith known for his incredibly poor luck.

While on assignment at PAX West 2019, the Shacknews video team got the chance to speak with Catalin Zima-Zegreanu, Lead Designer and Writer of Yaga. We got the inside scoop on the development of the game and what players can expect from this lighthearted tale of good versus evil.

Featuring a striking art style and unique folk music, Yaga certainly looks and sounds different than most games of its genre. The development team hopes that this can help it stand out amongst the numerous action RPGs with much darker themes and art styles. Hero Ivan has juggle tasks assigned by the Tzar while dealing with pressure from his grandmother to find a significant other.
