Shift Codes are a special item that offer several in-game rewards for a large variety of Gearbox Software games. Most notably, fans of the Borderlands series have found themselves able to unlock Golden Keys, which can then be used to open up a Golden Chest, giving them access to more great guns and gear. You can also unlock additional items with Shift Codes. If you’re looking to get your hands on Golden Keys, then you’re going to need to know how to use Shift Codes in Borderlands 3. This guide will show you all you need to know, so let’s dive right in!

How to use Shift Codes in Borderlands 3

To use Shift Codes in Borderlands 3 you’re going to need to launch the game and then make your way over to the Social option in the menu. This will bring up a list of options including matchmaking, as well as the game’s mail system (which is where you’ll receive all kinds of mail from various manufacturers in the Borderlands 3 universe).

To activate Shift Codes, select the tab marked with the big S. This will open up a Shift Code entry screen where you can enter in your various Shift Codes to unlock new rewards and items. You can enter in any number of Shift Codes that you’d like, so long as they are actually viable Shift Codes that have been given out and shared with the community. If your Shift Code isn’t active at the time, then the game will tell you so.

You can also use Shift Codes on the official Shift website, where you’ll also be able to see all the rewards that you’ve opened up across past games as well.

How to get Shift Codes in Borderlands 3

If you’re looking to get your hands on more Shift Codes, then all you’re going to need to do is keep your eyes glued to the official Gearbox social channels like Facebook and Twitter. The developers are always sharing new Shift Codes across these channels and we expect that we’ll see a long list of codes being sent out as we grow closer to the release of Borderlands 3 on September 13.
