During today's Nintendo Direct, a brand new trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons debuted with over five minutes showcasing some of the new gameplay fans can expect.
One intriguing new addition to the new Animal Crossing that players will no doubt look forward to is the new 8-player online multiplayer mode, as well as the new Resident Services building, crafting mechanics, and fun customization options for players' Villagers.
The Resident Services building will allow you to purchase new tools and furniture as well as sell off some of the items and weeds you don't want anymore as part of Tom Nook's new Island Cleanup Plan. That means any of the junk you don't want anymore or the weeds you find yourself picking after being away and coming back can now net you money.
You can also take part in the Nook Mileage Program, which lets you complete various activities to learn Nook Miles to trade in for different items and recipes. The new footage also showed off the familiar parts of Animal Crossing life you're no doubt already familiar with, including catching bugs, socializing, fishing, and collecting fun decor to make your home really shine with.
The eight-player online mode is really cool though, which means you can spend time with all your friends for once in the same game, which makes it instantly just as cool as hanging out with your friends and doing all this stufff IRL.
Can't wait to get your hands on some new Animal Crossing? You only have to wait until March 20, 2020. That should give you plenty of time to pay off your previous Nook-financed home...maybe.
Brittany Vincent posted a new article, Animal Crossing: New Horizons first gameplay shows 8-player multiplayer
I could imagine 8 player multiplayer being really popular in a college dorm like setting. Like having your own private lil mmo.
