High fantasy is one of those genres perfectly suited to video games, and the latest release from Rising Star Games and developer Amplify Creations uses those familiar inspirations to try something a little different. Often compared with the venerated Legend of Zelda series, the new game is called Decay of Logos, and the developers behind it have revealed that the game will release for PC and modern consoles toward the end of this month.

To celebrate the upcoming release, the team has created a new announcement trailer that showcases some of the title's biggest features — chiefly its lush, vibrant visuals and its focus on challenging, action-based combat.

It's a familiar-looking world for sure — Breath of the Wild fans should feel right at home — but despite the family-friendly visual appeal, the game's pitch of challenging combat and a revenge-themed story might find more popularity with an older audience.

A press release for the announcement gives a few more details into the general narrative in Decay of Logos:

"[Decay of Logos plays through] the eyes of a young adventurer named Ada, accompanied by a mystical Elk. Both are fatefully brought together the day her village is burned down by Crimson Knights bearing the Royal Crest. Motivated by revenge, she sets out on a journey to unveil the truth behind the attack."

Decay of Logos will release for PlayStation 4 on August 27, then Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 30, 2019.
