If you’ve been looking for a reason to try out For Honor, then Ubisoft and Epic Games have some great news for you. You’ll be able to pick up the standard edition of For Honor for free on the Epic Games Store starting tomorrow, August 2. The game will be available for free until August 9.

Today also marks the launch of Year 3, Season 3 for For Honor. The new season includes a new warrior named Jormungandr, who will join the Viking faction. According to the press release, “The Jormungandr are Viking sectarians who wear their devotion to the Great Serpent, after whom they are named, on their scarred bodies. Led by Hulda or Gretar, respectively the female and male version of the New Hero, the Jormungandr aims at crushing the weak before Ragnarok comes, as they believe only the most worthy must remain for the Great Battle. Wielding their mighty War Hamarr during fights, they cull their opponents with their powerful attacks.”

If you want to learn more about For Honor, you can head over to our original review of the game. In it, our reviewer Jason Faulkner states, “The draw of For Honor is multiplayer, and this is where you get your money's worth. There are multiple modes to play, all of which are very different in their execution. My current favorite mode is 1v1 Duel, where it's just you and another player facing off in a contest to see who can win the best out of five rounds. In 1v1 Duels any advantage your equipment might give you is turned off, both heroes are set to an equal level. If you want to include a friend, you can play 2v2 Duels, which play much the same way as 1v1 Duels but with a partner. There are 4v4 modes which consist of Elimination, a best of five rounds mode, and Dominion which will probably be the most popular game mode.” You can read the rest of our For Honor review for more of Jason’s thoughts.

If you want to pick up For Honor, but haven’t had the chance just yet, then be sure to pick it up via the Epic Games Store while it’s free.
