Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker gets VR Labo Kit support

Published , by Brittany Vincent

Ever since Nintendo debuted its Labo VR Kit, it's slowly been introducing several different experiences for players to use inside of the company's most popular titles, including Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The latest game to join this selection of VR games is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. This miniature riff on VR will let you explore four different courses in 360 degrees, even taking a ride with Toad himself in a mine cart as you solve a series of puzzles in this adorable puzzle adventure. If you've previously enjoyed your time in the puzzle-centric adventure, you should find plenty to enjoy about these new additions to the game, especially if you've been itching for a reason to bust out the VR goggles once more from your Labo VR Kit.

Previously, we reviewed Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker when it came to Nintendo Switch, and we awarded it an 8 out of 10. Here's what we thought about it:

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is every bit as charming on Switch as it was on Wii U. It starts off as a serene puzzle game that picks up in intensity as players get through each of the game's three chapters and dive deeper into the standard Mario level designs. It's brilliantly creative and will challenge players on both a mental and mechanical level. It's not too difficult a game, but it was still nice to see that this newer version of the game comes with an invincibility mushroom if players die too many times on a single stage, similar to recent Mario games.

Can't wait to see the new VR segments in Captain Toad for yourself? The update is available to download right now for free. The real question is, do you still have your VR goggles built and ready to go?
