How to get the Laserkraftwerk in Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Published , by Sam Chandler

The Laserkraftwerk is one of the first of the kraftwerk guns you will get in Wolfenstein: Youngblood. This weapon packs a punch and is able to melt Nazis just as easily as it melts doors. Thankfully, it’s incredibly easy to get, you’ll basically stumble across it after the first few hours of playing. But if you just can’t wait, here’s how to get the Laserkraftwerk.

How to get Laserkraftwerk

The Laserkraftwerk is unlocked during the raid mission, Brother 1. This is the first of the Three Brothers (the giant towers on the border of Paris) that you will attack over the course of the campaign. These towers increase in difficulty, so finishing them in sequential order is a good idea.

The Laserkraftwerk in Wolfenstein: Youngblood is found during the raid mission on Brother 1.

Load up the Brother 1 raid mission and fight through the level until you enter the tower. Continue through the tower and you’ll reach a point where you can progress no further. At this point, you will find the Laserkraftwerk sitting on a tool bench beside an informational computer.

Pick up the Laserkraftwerk and then interact with the computer to learn more about how it works. Unlike previous Wolfenstein games, this version of the gun does not have a cutting mode. The only mode it has is a single beam which deals a lot of damage.

You might wonder how you can use it to cut through doors and boxes. The answer is rather simple: it melts doors completely. Aim at a door that can be destroyed with the Laserkraftwerk (it will be a highlighted with a unique color) and then shoot. The door will turn to molten slag and fall from the frame.

This gun can also be used against Nazi soldiers. It is most effective against soldier with the thick white block armor, so avoid using it against the thin white blocks. Be sure to whip it out when you’re versing the big Nazi robots or the hounds, as they can be taken down rather quickly with a few well-placed shots.
