How to level up quickly in Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Published , by Sam Chandler

Wolfenstein: Youngblood has a strong focus on leveling. Unlike previous titles, you can purchase upgrades and perks that allow you to do different things, but they’re all attached to levels. Knowing how to level up quickly in Wolfenstein: Youngblood is going to help you skip a lot of the grind and get to the fun. There are a few things you can do to expedite the leveling process, so let’s talk about them.

How to level up quickly

At the start of Wolfenstein: Youngblood, players can very quickly see that there are perks locked behind level 30. Leveling up quickly will then be the primary focus.

Each of Abby's challenges reward a huge amount of XP and can be done passively as you complete missions.

To level up, you must acquire a certain amount of XP per level – as is the norm with all games since the dawn of time. In Wolfenstein: Youngblood, this XP is pretty easy to acquire, as most sources give large amounts. In saying that, it’s worth noting the various sources that reward XP:

The first two points are incredibly obvious: complete the main story missions and finish side quests. Side quests are acquired by talking to the various characters in the Catacombs. For the uninitiated, the Catacombs is your base of operations in Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Anyone with a marker above them and on the map will either reward you with something or offer you a side quest.

Action objectives, on the other hand, aren’t immediately obvious. As you explore a map while doing a mission, Abby may contact you and offer a bonus task – this is an Action objective. It may be as simple as hunting down and killing an officer or planting a bomb in a car. Completing an Action objective will reward a nice sum of XP.

Every Nazi you kill rewards a chunk of XP. The more you kill, the faster you'll level up in Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

Another thing Abby can do to help you level up quickly is provide challenges. She has daily and weekly challenges that ask you to do things like get headshots, replay a mission, or hunt down an important target. Check with her daily so you can get all the XP you need.

Finally, simply killing Nazis is going to net you various amounts of XP. The tougher the enemy, the more XP you’re going to receive. Kill all Nazis in your path and you’ll grow stronger, which will allow you to kill them some more.

Leveling up quickly in Wolfenstein: Youngblood isn’t going to be too difficult. After a few hours of playtime you should find yourself in the high teens or even twenties. But keep these tips in mind, and complete all side objectives, and you’ll have more XP and silver than you’ll know what to do with.
