Corsair has been one of the go-to brand of PC components for decades, offering all manner of cases, fans, and other peripherals. Now, the company will be offering entire gaming systems. Announced just earlier today, Corsair has acquired Origin PC, one of several major builders of enthusiast-level gaming PCs.

PC gamers who are fond of Origin systems will be happy to note that Corsair has no intention of changing or nullifying the Origin PC brand. Origin PC will continue to operate as usual, except the company's systems will now be loaded with Corsair's own iCue software.

This acquisition comes 10 years after Origin PC was founded by former members of Alienware, who started the company after Dell acquired Alienware in 2006. Corsair itself has been around for over two decades, but is making bigger moves into the PC gaming demographic, having also recently acquired Elgato, the company that makes a popular line of capture cards and hardware.

Speaking in a press release, Corsair spoke about how new acquisition will offer the best of both company's products, and promised that more details are to come.

"Integrating the Corsair iCue software ecosystem into Origin PC’s systems will offer gamers system-wide lighting synchronization and performance monitoring, while the recently announced range of Corsair Hydro X Series custom cooling will soon be found in select Origin PC systems. Further co-operation and integration of Corsair and Origin products will be announced in the near future."
