Limbo is free to download on Epic Games Store Until July 25

Another week, another new free game at the Epic Games Store. This week, you can download the unsettling platformer Limbo for the low price of nothing.

You've got a week to make sure you claim it, and after that, the rotation will change again so you can add a different game to your collection. Last week's free game was Torchlight, which served up a heaping helping of Diablo-like action-RPG goodness. This is a stark departure from that, with plenty of weirdness, bleak visuals, and violence. It's actually pretty awesome.

Previously, Shacknews' Jeff Mattas reviewed Limbo when it first made its debut. Here's what he had to say about it, calling it one of the most "satisfying gaming experiences" he had enjoyed that year.

Despite LIMBO's lack of any text or dialogue, the game manages to tell a very engaging story - yet another testament to how well each of its components have been fused together. I constantly found myself in precarious situations that carry with them a "monster under the bed" feeling of pure dread that brought back memories of fearing the bogeyman under the bed. It's impossible to discuss more deeply in a spoiler-free way but rest assured, the unsettling melancholy that permeates the world of LIMBO is bound to stick with you, long after the credits roll."

Make sure you snag the game this week before it's no longer free – you wouldn't want to miss out on its exquisite creepiness, after all. It'll be available to download and play for free until July 15, at which point we'll be here to remind you again to grab the next free title. We got you, don't worry.
