Super Mario Maker 2 is a game all about providing a customized experience to the player. Once in the Settings menu, players will note the Character section featured in the upper right-hand side of the window. Here they will be able to choose from the game's four characters: Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Pink Toad. To change the active character, simply highlight and select the chosen character within the settings menu, then press OK.

After the character has been chosen, it will immediately appear as the player's avatar in the given course and game mode. Characters can be swapped and out at will, so players can feel free to choose the character they like best.
