Summer Games Done Quick 2019: Day 4 schedule

Published , by Ozzie Mejia

It's time once again for speedrunners to take center stage on Twitch. Summer Games Done Quick is almost at its halfway point, back for another seven days of the best speedruns in gaming. The world's top speedrunners are playing through the best games of the past and present, raising money for charity in the process.

Summer Games Done Quick comes to you from Bloomington, MN. This year's event will raise money for Doctors Without Borders. Already the runners have raised over $500,000 for charity and there are still four more days remaining. Shacknews is here with a handful of noteworthy runs from throughout the week that should not be missed, but first, here's a highlight from Day 3.

And let's throw in a bonus clip from the wee hours of Tuesday evening, as Smash Bros. pros Alexander "RagingCherry" Chiricosta and Eric "ESAM" Lew went down to the wire in Divekick.

Play fighting games, everyone!

Here's the full schedule for Day 4, taken from the Games Done Quick website, along with a handful of noteworthy runs to check out:

9:02AM - Lethal League Blaze

There's an entire library of underappreciated indie games out there and among them is Lethal League. Did you know that a sequel was released? Lethal League Blaze came out in the last year and fell under a lot of radars, but it's definitely one of those games that's fun to play and watch. The idea is that it's essentially tennis, except with baseballs and aluminum bats.

One of Lethal League Blaze's new features is a single-player Arcade Mode and that's what'll be on display to help kick off Wednesday morning. Get a look at Buffet Time running through this game and consider picking this one up during the Steam Summer Sale.

3:05PM - The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Games Done Quick has often proven to be a great home for the best that The Legend of Zelda has to offer. While the recent focus has been on quick Any% runs and Randomizer runs, there's still some enjoyment to be had with lengthy 100% runs that cover every inch the game has to offer. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds hasn't really gotten this treatment on the GDQ stage yet and its time has now come.

Revisit the old Link to the Past Hyrule, as TheLegendofZaheer looks to show off every bit of this 3DS sequel.

6:30PM - Dark Souls II

When it comes to speedrunning, there's a very special place for the Dark Souls series and the best of FromSoftware. It's no secret that the Souls games are spirit crushers in how difficult they are, with only the most hardened of players able to survive their relentless onslaught of creatures that can kill you in short order.

That's why it's always fun to watch someone who's capable of running through these games with the greatest of ease. Distortion2 will look to cruise through every single one of Dark Souls II's bosses, including the ones included in the game's DLC. This is going to be a very special run to conclude a long Wednesday, so be sure to tune in.

Summer Games Done Quick 2019 will take place from now through Saturday, June 29. For more, check out the Games Done Quick website and be sure to watch all of the action from Twitch.
