E3 2019: Mega Ran drops deets on the Dewey Decibel System

Published , by Blake Morse

While we may all dream of quitting our job to become a famous musician or actor, not everyone has the chutzpah to follow through on such grandiose ambitions. Fortunately for the world, the nerdcore rapper known as Mega Ran was ready and willing to do just that and we have not been deprived of his mad rhyme skills. He left his job as a teacher several years ago to pursue his dream of being a full-time MC. Now, several years later, he is a hot commodity, touring constantly and collaborating with heavy hitters from the nerdcore universe including his latest album with MC Lars “The Dewey Decibel System.” The LP features songs based off some of their favorite literary works, hence the title.

We had a chance during our E3 2019 livestream to catch up with him about touring, wrestling, and of course, video games. One game, in particular, was of special interest to the globe-trotting MC though: The Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Some fans may be familiar with Mega Ran’s Final Fantasy 7 tribute album “Black Materia.” Could the album be getting a new release or even a remake for the upcoming game launch? Ran wasn’t dropping any specific news just yet, but he did mention that something is in the works. For more details on what Mega Ran has been getting up to lately, you can check out the whole video interview below.
