Apple has had some big reveals at WWDC 2019, but the announcement of the new Mac Pro may be the biggest one yet. Featuring a new Intel Xeon processor with up to 28 cores, the latest desktop system offers a unique steel-frame form factor with frankly unprecendented levels of customization for an Apple computer.

The new system will notably include a host of PCI expansion options offered by eight total PCIe slots, including four double-wide slots, three single-wide slots, one half-length port. These will tie in to the GPU options offered by the new Mac Pro Expansion module, also called the MPX, which offers x16 PCIe connection options for connection of up to two external graphics cards.

From the system specifications we've seen so far, the new Mac Pro for 2019 seems to be quite the powerhouse. Here are the highlights as given in the WWDC 2019 keynote presentation:

Of course, much ado is made about the power afforded to the new Mac Pro, including its capability to stream multiple audio and video stream, notably the power to handle four concurrent 8K video streams.
