Death Stranding is set to release November 8, 2019, and Kojima has spent the past two and a half years or so hyping up the game with mysterious trailers and reveals. Now, though, as we head into the final months before release, many people are curious as to whether or not Death Stranding will be a PS4 exclusive. If you’re one of those people, then you’re going to want to keep reading to learn more about Death Stranding and if you can ever expect it to release on PC.

Is Death Stranding a PS4 exclusive?

Death Stranding is not currently planned to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. While Sony’s involvement and backing of the game will no doubt lead to some kind of exclusivity, a Q&A with Medium back in 2015 revealed that Kojima had plans to bring Death Stranding to PC, and that Sony would not be investing in Kojima Productions at that time. Unfortunately, the article with the Q&A has been deleted, but Gamespot touched on the matter in December of 2015.

Is Death Stranding a PS4 exclusive?

For those who have followed Kojima’s reign at Konami, and his subsequent removal from the publishing company, this was around the same time that Kojima revealed Kojima Productions, his very own studio. Unfortunately, we haven’t really heard anything else about when to expect Death Stranding to make the jump to PC. We expect that there will be at least some kind of exclusivity time for the PlayStation 4, and there have never been any known plans to bring the game to the Xbox One.

For now, all we can do is wait and see how things play out. Whether Kojima continues with his plans to bring Death Stranding to PC is unclear at this time. What we do know, though, is that the game is set to release on PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019. That means you have plenty of time to pick up a PS4 before it drops, to make sure you can experience the full breadth of Kojima’s weirdness when it arrives.
