Free QuakeCon Europe event coming to London this July

QuakeCon 2019 is heading back to Dallas, Texas later this year, but it appears that id Software has even more festivities planned for the Year of Doom. Bethesda has announced QuakeCon Europe will be held in London, England. The free event will run simultaneously with the event in Dallas.

It seems like there won't be a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) section at QuakeCon Europe, but attendees will be able to play the highly-anticipated Doom Eternal. This will be the first time that the game will be playable outside of North America. Bethesda has also confirmed that there will be panels from other game franchises as well as some demos. Fans will also be able to meet some of the folks from Bethesda's development teams.

Tickets to QuakeCon Europe are free. The event will be held from July 26-27 with July 26 being an exclusive preview day followed by a public access day on July 27. Head over to the official QuakeCon Europe website to sign up for a notification when tickets become available. It is safe to assume that these tickets will go quickly as the event is free.

QuakeCon 2019 will celebrate the Year of Doom in Dallas, Texas this July. The four-day event will take place July 25-28 at the Gaylord Texan Resort. Shacknews held The Great Quakeholio Tournament last year at QuakeCon 2018, and we have some plans to continue bring another amazing Shacknews Electronic Sports competition back to Texas this summer. Yes, there will be catering from El Fenix Mexican Restaurant again.

Today's news is exciting for folks in Europe who can't make the long trek to Texas, but we all know that late nights in the BYOC is the best part of any QuakeCon. Either way, it is great to see Bethesda and id Software kick the hype up a notch with an expanded global QuakeCon event. Keep it locked on Shacknews leading up to QuakeCon for all the information and news leading up to the event in July.
