Blizzard and GoG, the platform owned by CD Projekt Red, are teaming up and the next step in the partnership is upon us. Available now, gamers can take it back to the roots in celebration of the upcoming 25th anniversary of Warcraft with a bundle that includes Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft 2: Battle.net Edition.

Previously, the partnership between GOG and Blizzard was revealed with the launch of the original Diablo on the GOG platform. "We were bummed that these iconic games weren’t available to our players, so we‘re very happy to work with the crew at GOG.COM to rectify that,” said Rob Bridenbecker, Vice President and Executive Producer, Blizzard Entertainment, in the press release. “This has been a long time coming and we hope our players will be excited to jump back into these classic titles."

Now, players can grab versions of Warcraft and Warcraft 2 that have been fully optimized to run on today's operating systems. Warcraft 2, as explained in the official World of Warcraft news post, comes in two flavors: One that's been updated with support for high-resolution displays and multiplayer via LAN; and a period-appropriate classic version with the original SVGA graphics and matchmaking through a classic version of the Battle.net service. Here are the summaries for both, taken from the Warcraft Bundle page on GOG.com.

Warcraft: Orcs and Humans - Enter the world of Warcraft, a mystical land where evil Orcs and noble Humans battle for survival and domination. With an ingenious arsenal of weaponry and powerful magic, these two forces collide in a contest of cunning, intellect, and brute strength.

Warcraft 2 Battle.net Edition - Return to the Age of Chaos and wage war against live Orc and Human opponents with the same skill and fearless intensity you lived and breathed in your Warcraft: Orcs and Humans career. Put your skills to the ultimate test in the most epic Warcraft II battles ever.

The GOG Warcraft bundle, including Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft 2 Battle.net Edition, costs $14.99 and is available now. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional gaming and tech updates. Many thanks to Chatty user mechanicalgrape for bringing the launch to our attention!
