Do you remember the Doom movie from 2005 featuring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson? Whether you loved it or hated it, it is now getting a sequel. Doom: Annihilation is coming in Fall 2019 and is bringing a BFG along with it.

Doom: Annihilation follows a group of space marines that respond to a distress call from a base on a Martian moon, only to discover it's been overrun by demonic creatures who threaten to "create Hell on Earth." Definitely sounds like a Doom movie, right? The surprising sequel is not getting a theatrical release, but will instead be going direct-to-video at the end of 2019.

Bloody Disgusting reports that the movie is being written and directed by Tony Giglio, who previously worked on S.W.A.T.: Under Siege. The Doom: Annihilation cast features Amy Manson (Atlantis), Dominic Mafham (Ophelia), Luke Allen-Gale (Dominion) and Nina Bergman (The Car: Road to Revenge). It was also executive produced by Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, who produced the first Transformers film, and John Wells, one of the people behind Animal Kingdom.

Doom Eternal is the next game coming to the legendary franchise, raising the high bar set by 2016's Doom, which was the Shacknews Game of the Year in 2016, and delivering more demon-slaying goodness sometime later in 2019. It's taking a formula the previously entry struck gold with and adding a few new features like a shotgun with a grappling hook, wall climbing, and invading the games of other players as a demon. There's still a lot to be revealed, so many other new features and mechanics could be coming as well.
