Cyberpunk 2077 team adds The Witcher 3 game director

Wandering eyes have spotted some interesting news regarding CD Projekt Red's upcoming open-world first-person RPG. According to LinkedIn, the former Game Director for Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, is Cyberpunk 2077's new Design Director. He's also moving up to Vice President of Game Development at CD Projekt Red.

PC Gamer reported the news via Reddit user asbx444's find. It isn't known exactly when this shift took place, but its an encouraging addition to Cyberpunk 2077 development after the game's Narrative and Setting Director, Sebastian Stepien, left for Blizzard earlier this year.

In other recent news, we learned that Cyberpunk 2077 will be making an appearance at E3 2019. We don't know if it will be taking up Sony's vacant space on the exhibition floor or just appearing via one of the major game showcases that happen before E3 proper truly begins, but it will at least be in a larger capacity than E3 2018. That year, Cyberpunk 2077 appeared behind closed doors to various guests and the rest of the world didn't get to see the game until a few months later.

As it stands, there's no release window for Cyberpunk 2077 and theories are all over the place. Even though the gameplay video the studio released is fairly robust, there are massive voids of information when it comes to what the Cyberpunk 2077 experience will encompass. What we do know, though, is that Cyberpunk 2077 has been playable from start to finish as far back as August 2018. With that bit of information, it'd make sense for the E3 2019 experience to include some hands-on time for press, if not for the public.

Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but this hasn't been confirmed. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional gaming and tech updates.
