It's been a long and excruciating wait, but fans of the Square Enix and Disney's collaboration finally get their hands on Kingdom Hearts 3 this year. For those that want a new way to explore this world-jumping story or just have an interest in tabletop games, a Kingdom Hearts board game has been announced.
Polygon reports that The OP (also known as USAoploy), a board game publisher that blends pop culture properties like Harry Potter and Marvel with classic board games like Monopoly, Clue, and many others, is teaming up with Games Workshop for Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Edition. Games Workshop is the developer and publisher of Warhammer experiences, among many others, and Talisman is a tabletop adventure for multiple players that was first published in 1983 and was most recently revised in 2008 with its fourth edition.
Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Edition will be playable for 2-6 players and participants will be able to choose to play as Sora, Kairi, Riku, King Mickey, and Goofy (the original report only named these five characters, but we assume the sixth is Donald). The Kingdom Hearts games feature unique environments as well as popular locales from Disney franchises. The Talisman board game will reflect this in its three regions, which feature locations like Neverland and Traverse Town, and tasks players acquiring strength and magic to seal the Door to Darkness.
Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Edition serves as the first production from a partnership between Games Workshop and USAopoly that was announced earlier this year. “Talisman is one of the most respected tabletop games of all time and served as a gateway into gaming for many people,” said Candace Brenner, VP of Marketing for USAopoly, in the press release for the announcement. “Working with some of the most cherished licenses in the world to add our own heroic twists to the game, these upcoming thematic versions will let an entire new audience experience the grand adventure that is Talisman!”
Kingdom Hearts 3 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One. Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Edition doesn't have a release date yet, but will be released sometime in 2019. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional gaming and tech updates.

I wish it was a unique game or at least based on a better game than Talisman. It had its time but man, some of the stuff it does just isn't worth it nowadays.
