How to register for the Mortal Kombat 11 Online Stress Test

If you decided to skip the February 27th edition of NetherRealm Studios' Kombat Kast livestream because you thought it would be wall-to-wall Johnny Cage coverage, you may have missed some essential news. That news is regarding the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 Online Stress Test, which will ask the player base to help NetherRealm determine whether their online services for the upcoming fighter are up to snuff. Given some of the developer's past issues with online play, a stress test certainly won't hurt. But how does one go about taking part in this?

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users can visit the Mortal Kombat Beta site and find an option to register for the upcoming Online Stress Test. It is set to run from March 15 at 7AM PT through March 17 at 11:59PM PT and is strictly to test MK11's online capacity. This is not to be confused with the Pre-Order Beta test, which gives those who pre-ordered a chance to get an early sample of the game prior to launch. Participation in the Online Stress Test is free of charge.

Upon hitting the "Register Now" button, users will be asked for their date of birth, platform of choice, associated Gamertag, email address, and country of residence. That's all you need to do, but successfully submitting this information is not a guarantee that you will be selected. NetherRealm will send a confirmation email at a later date indicating whether the user has been chosen to participate in this test.

The Online Stress Test is only being held in the United States and only for PS4 and Xbox One. There is no stress test currently planned for PC or Nintendo Switch.

The Pre-Order Closed Beta will take place from March 28-31. Pre-ordering is the only way to ensure participation in that weekend, as well as secure Shao Khan for the final version of the game.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release on April 23 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
